Basically just a gofer. • I used to prep the floors ready for screed or floor coverings I left this job because the company split up, but I did get job offers off of both partners, I accepted the job with Jimmy Bell at Bell Flooring 2005-2007 BELL FLOORING Apprentice Floor Layer • In this job I was a little more clued up on what to do so I was often left on my own to prep jobs • The prep at this point included ripping up the old floor, applying DPM if necessary, screeding the floor, and spreading the adhesive ready for the new floor covering. I left this job because I moved away from London 2007-2010 GRAND FLOORING Self-Employed Floor Layer • As a self-employed floor layer all responsibility falls on me to find new work, and keep a friendly and professional relationship with existing customers. • It is also my job to measure up and plan out how jobs will be done, as well as ordering the materials needed to complete the job on time • On some of my larger jobs it is necessary to bring in out side SKILLS AND ACTIVITIES • I used to be a scout at 1st east wick ham, where I worked through to become an assistant leader. Even though I no longer attend due to lack of available time to help, but I do still have strong connections with the group, and the scouting community. • I have always been involved in trades and handy work from a young age, my dad is an electrician and has practically built my house. I often worked with my dad or his mates doing general labour before I received my NI number. |
