EMPLOYMENT HISTORY Huyton Churches Training Services Floorcovering NVQ Tutor/Assessor July 2006 - Present I am at present employed by Huyton Churches Training Services to teach and assess new and semi skilled apprentices to NVQ Level 2 standards in floor laying craft. My duties involve teaching installation skills for all aspects of flooring as well as planning, estimating, costing and technical underpinning knowledge. I have taken a leadership role in the delivering of Health and Safety material to students in preparation for the Construction Skills Certification Scheme test (CSCS). I have achieved my A1 Award and I am now responsible for assessing future students. As part of this role, I have also recently completed a BTEC Professional Award Level 4 in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS). Bradshaw’s Flooring Self Employed Flooring Contractor September 2000 – July 2006 In September 2000 I decided to start my own business. I located work all over the North West and sub contracted to various retail stores. This was a profitable business enterprise in terms of experience and brought me both contract and domestic work. My success as a self employed floor layer relied mostly on recommendation from highly satisfied members of the public and repetitive business. Maintaining this successful business called upon my varied skills and interaction with other contractors. I was able to manage my plentiful workload extremely efficiently and also run the administrative aspects of the job. Having my own business has developed my knowledge of the industry, sales and products to a very high standard. Lancashire Mill Carpets Assistant Manager September 1994 – September2000 Whilst attaining my qualifications in floor laying craft and advanced craft I also worked for Lancashire Mill Carpets. Here, I carried out all fittings and met the strict sales targets set by the manager. After proving my skills and abilities as a fitter, I was promoted to Assistant Manager and given a more demanding role. My responsibilities included not only measuring, estimation and installation, but also ordering, planning, customer relations, stock control and accounts management. This was an opportunity I relished and I would later call upon these valuable experiences.
