October 2007 August 2008 Group Customer Service Manager Promoted to work for the combined business which now incorporates Ryalux Ltd, set up similar customer services, sales procedures and ways of workings across the group Manage the Customer Service Department for the group to ensure that all staff were motivated, trained and involved in providing perfect customer service. Key account manager and point of contact for all domestic clients. Measure all aspects of service so that the company had a reliable benchmark for its performance against its previous performance and relative to customer expectations. Manage and develop the sales office and customer service staff to maximise business Liaise with related company functions primarily sales, logistics and planning to ensure the service issues and opportunities are at the forefront of company thinking. Ensure that all contact from customers with the companys staff is of the required standard, including rectification of customer issues. Responsible for a team of three , duties included Open accounts and set credit limits. Constant ongoing review of credit limits. Monitor aged debt, issue stop list when necessary. Collect overdues via telephone and written communication. Face to face meetings, to build relationships and to collect overdues. Daily banking. Allocate cash manually, then on to bespoke system. Liaise when appropriate with 3rd party debt collectors. Prepare necessary legal paper work. All associated credit insurance reporting. Negotiate credit insurance policy. In my final years at Burmatex, I was employed as (Customer) Service Manager, my remit was not only to provide the Perfect Service to our customer base but also to improve the service we gave ourselves internally, in particular between the Salesforce on the road and the internal sales offices. I had reporting in to me 2 sales offices, a customer complaints department and the company shop in total 30 members of staff. The service of the company improved dramatically once we had established ways of workings, procedures and measurements / KPis. The composite measurement for the department started at 40% and when I left it had risen to 97.8%. As the role developed and service improved I spent more time on the road meeting key accounts to discuss ongoing service issues and how to implement new ideas / suggestions etc I was initial contact for all key accounts and distributors, I also had to manage the order book and the integrity of it, liaising on a daily basis with production and planning to ensure all delivery dates were met. I am very much a team player, but am as comfortable working on my own initiative I am driven and motivated by success and improvement, I do not like not winning and like to measure myself accordingly. For twelve months before I was Office Manager, responsible for all accounts , sales office and administration staff. I was also responsible for all health and safety issues, purchasing of stationary, security of office block and all other duties expected of an office manager. For 19 years prior to that I was employed as Credit Controller / Manager where I had numerous responsibilities: Open all accounts Set credit limits Review of credit limits Monitor aged debt Provide monthly stop list Collect overdues via telephone and written Face to face meetings Daily banking Allocate all cash , initially manually and then on to bespoke system Liaise , when necessary with 3rd party debt collectors All credit insurance monthly reporting Preparation of legal paper work Negotiation of credit insurance policy We had a turnover of ?20,000,000 with around 1,200 customers of which 500 would be active at any time.
