We supply and/or install all types of wood flooring, including parquet and boards, both solid and engineered. We also repair, restore, and sand/seal all types of wood floors, including floorboards. Our business is based in Southport, Merseyside, and we cover all of the North West, with a countrywide service for larger jobs. We do not have a showroom, but can provide home visits with samples of the different flooring available. Martin started the business in 1998, and although initially we worked mostly with traditional solid hardwood flooring, we now deal with all types of wood floors.

New Floors Boards

This is a new floor that we installed in St. Dunstan's church in Liverpool, which is a magnificent listed building. The boards were installed as a floating floor over underfloor heating. This was a bedroom with pine floorboards, which we bleached with lye and then finished with a white pigmented hardwax oil, which killed off the orangey colour that pine takes on over time.

This was an oak chevron floor, with smaller blocks than is often seen with this type of floor, but which was appropriate for the size of room. This was a listed building being restored on behalf of Liverpool University, and we supplied bespoke oak parquet blocks to the exact size of the original blocks, which were not salvageable.
Decorative Features

This is a parquetry floor that we supplied and installed (Castell pattern), but the border was a soldier course with an additional black feature line, which is different to the more usual double row of blocks or single board border. With a traditional herringbone parquet floor with a double row border, curves are usually broken down into a series of angles.
Restoration & Refinishing

This floor had been carpeted over for a long time, and as the layout of the room had been changed over the years the border was missing or wrongly aligned in several places. This is an oak parquet floor that had been in place for some years and the clients wanted to re-finish it, but without the golden colour that oak ages into.

This was the second time they have installed a parquet floor for us (they also repaired an engineered wood floor). They are extremely professional from initial contact through to completion. Best in the North West for quality flooring! Daniel and the crew have all been amazing from start to finish. Came out to do a quote next day after contacting company. Very professional and friendly. The work was completed before schedule and they took the time to listen to all our questions and went through all options and benefits. Daniel and his team have brought new life to my 200 year old pitch pine floor boards, absolutely thrilled with the results. Extremely professional, punctual, pleasant and meticulously clean. This is the second time we have used Martin Kingdon Ltd, last time was over 5 years ago the finish has lasted extremely well delighted to have them back to breath life into another floor. At the moment we are in the process of renovating our house and I have had a number people working on our house. Martin Kingdom were the best to date. They did an excellent job. I was very concerned it was going to be very dusty but as I was promised there was hardly any dust. They did a quality repair. As for the price, they are extremely good value. They finished on time. I highly recommend them.

I had oak parquet installed by Daniel and his team in my living room and dining room in 2018. I specifically chose this company after seeing flooring they had fitted elsewhere and am glad I did. The installation required that my floor was made level before fitting as there was a height difference between the two rooms which are divided with sliding doors.
This was done perfectly. I had an idea of a border I wanted but am glad I listened to the advice from Daniel and settled for a much more fitting and attractive border for my room size. The team worked so hard and efficiently and the finished job looks wonderful. They are talented and skilled professionals and so I asked them to fit another floor for me this year, reclaimed maple in an art deco style bedroom. I am again beyond thrilled with the end product. We have used this company three times to replace our existing flooring with oak parquet flooring. They are the ultimate professionals, and each time the work has been completed to the highest of standards hence the reason we have returned to them on two further occasions following our initial projects. The workmen are neat and tidy and always arrive at the arranged time.
I would recommend them every time, and should we require any further work we shall return to this company. I had an intricate Edwardian parquet floor that needed lots of love and attention and I got all that and more from Daniel and his team. Consummate professionals throughout I was always communicated to and well advised throughout the process. The finish is beyond words and I could never have imagined it being so good. I am so pleased I had these guys recommended to me - absolutely brilliant! They also sanded and stained my two wooden floors in my reception rooms - again workmanship second to none.
