Our floor sanding process combines a three-stage sanding system with professional extraction equipment that removes approximately 95% of dust before it enters the air. We keep disruption to your home to a minimum while creating the ideal conditions for a clean oil or lacquer finish. A small amount of fine dust may remain near the skirting boards, but not throughout the property. We believe in setting clear expectations and delivering the standard we promise. 
We restore damaged and worn wooden floors by carrying out repairs before beginning our three-stage sanding process. Loose, split and missing boards are repaired or replaced, while gaps are filled using the most suitable method for the floor. If requested, we apply a stain before finishing with either oil or lacquer. Every restoration is tailored to the condition of your floor and completed in the correct order for lasting results. 
Our parquet restoration service is designed to return patterned floors to excellent condition with careful attention to every detail. We re-fix loose blocks, replace missing pieces using reclaimed timber that matches the original, and refinish the floor as one continuous surface. By using the correct methods for parquet, we achieve a durable and uniform result. 
We repair loose and hollow parquet blocks, replace split or missing boards with carefully matched reclaimed timber, and fill gaps using the most suitable materials for the floor. Every repair is completed before sanding to achieve a consistent finish. We focus on making the floor stable, level and secure throughout the process. Our repair work is carried out as part of our sanding and installation projects. 
Our wood floor staining service begins with a full sand to prepare the timber for consistent colour absorption. We then apply complimentary patch tests on your own boards, so you can choose from genuine results rather than colour charts. Using the LOBA staining system, we achieve reliable, professional finishes tailored to your floor. We complete the process with the appropriate protective finish once your preferred shade has been confirmed. 
Our stair sanding service restores timber staircases by sanding each tread back to clean wood and preparing the risers for painting where required. We specialise in the sought-after finish of natural timber treads paired with painted risers, offering a practical solution that also reduces sanding time. We give clear advice about the dust involved, explaining that full staircase sanding creates some dust despite careful preparation and extraction. We inspect every staircase in advance and supply a written fixed quotation that remains unchanged. 
We supply and install quality engineered oak flooring, including planks, herringbone and chevron designs, with every project managed by our experienced team. We provide genuine samples before decisions are made and offer guidance on suitable grades, widths and finishes. Our process includes careful subfloor preparation, acclimatisation and precise fitting. We take responsibility for the complete supply and installation service.

Dean has been in flooring since he was 17, which is now more than two decades of fitting, sanding and finishing floors across South London. The trade runs in the family: his dad Alan is a chimney sweep, the fifth generation of Naish & Sons, sweeping since 1870, and Dean grew up in Coulsdon riding along to jobs in his dad's van.

So happy with Dean and team. Communication was quick and clear. We bought a house which had horrible dark floors everywhere. We were costing replacing the engineered wood but someone suggested trying to sand what is there. The guys did a fantastic job at sanding the floors with care. The results were night and day. Couldnt recommend more. They the best price in the area, and the result was fantastic. Dean completed the job while we were on holiday, and kept us updated with progress daily which was a nice touch. When I came back and wasnt happy with a single detail, Dean returned and replaced an entire piece of floorboard without any additional charge. Top notch service.

The best floormen in the business. They passionately care and it shows in the results. Luke, Joe and Frank painstakingly renewed 100m2 of oak flooring at our house this December. Moving furniture (incl heavy piano), fixing pre-existing gouges in our floor and working the weekend to get the job done. Prices bang in line with the other quotes we received - no extras. I chose Howard Naish because during the initial consultation they were really informative and genuine. They helped me to choose what floor to go with, and were patient with my indecision! They provided samples of the wood so I knew exactly what I was getting. I thought the price was fair and good value. During the installation, I felt completely comfortable giving Luke keys. Luke also helped to tidy the cables away whilst he was installing the floor. I am really happy with the end result. My floor looks fantastic, exactly as I had imagined. The quality of work is amazing. I am happy I chose Howard Naish and will be booking them again for sanding in other rooms.

Luke, Dean and their team did a fantastic job of flooring all 3 levels of our newly-renovated home. They were professional, worked hard and communicated very well with us throughout the process. They also dealt with working around the onsite building team with no fuss or complaint, even though I am sure it was not easy at times. The team's work is excellent and we are thoroughly pleased with our new oak flooring. Highly recommended!

Recently had some new flooring on my apartment put in and it looks great - Luke did an excellent job. The whole process was relatively quick install and a lot of care has been put in to details around the edges and doorways. Also appreciate their flexibility working around furniture in a small space. Overall lovely people and they did a great job, would recommend them for their excellent work.
